PAVUK ANDREIA

Member of the Transcarpathian organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (2015), member of the Association of Slovak artists.

She was born on 31 August 1973 in Uzhhorod. Being a little girl, she loved painting the most. Her father, having creative abilities, was an amateur artist. At school age, Andreia attended the famous fine art studio of Zoltan Bakoniia.

After the end of the eighth grade, without hesitation, Andreia entered the Uzhhorod School of Decorative and Applied Art, where she studied at the department of “artistic ceramics” until 1994.  Talented pedagogues Liudmyla Averkiieva and Ivan Masniuk made a great contribution to the formation of the young artist. After college, she worked in the “Eurocarpathians” society, painting ceramics and porcelain.

Subsequently, after a few years, she enters the department of artistic ceramics at the Lviv National Academy of Arts, which she graduated in 2007 with a master’s degree. Stepan Andrusiv became a pedagogue who helped the artist to acquire professional knowledge and improve skills.

Loving ceramics, in which one can express creative ideas in sculptures of small plastics with the help of a form, the artist also became seriously interested in painting and graphics. The creativity of the coryphaei of the Transcarpathian School inspired her. The artist understood that painting would help to reproduce impressions, thoughts, and exciting topics better. On canvases, she will be able to speak with the help of colour, game of shades, and change of technique of execution.

It all began with still lifes, landscapes – a genre that the author adores, inspired by the nature of the Carpathians. She is not indifferent to animalier art. Andreia often both in ceramics and in painting refers to the images of birds and animals. The artist is in a creative search, works in different styles and techniques, experiments, improves herself. Her credo is the statement of the famous German artist and scientist Albrecht Dürer: “Just as honey is gathered from many flowers, so from many beautiful things one gathers something good.” The manner of her writing is expressive, the range of colours is rich and full, the tonal range is wide.

Now in the creativity of the artist, a period of works with a philosophical sound, restrained monochrome gamma, appeal to mythological, biblical images.

Noteworthy is the work of the author “Phantom” (2017), which depicts an old bridge when it mattered and was needed by people, and now it has remained on the side of the whirlpool of life and is living out its age in yearning for the past. The history of the bridge parallels the difficult destiny of a person who is in oblivion, but still has memories.

The artist combines his work with pedagogical activity. Since 2007, she has been working at the College of Arts named after A. Erdeli, where she teaches sculpture and painting. At the same time, by 2010, she has been teaching special disciplines at the Transcarpathian Arts Institute.

The artist – member of collective exhibitions and also she held four solo: two in 2013 in Presov and Kosice (Slovakia), in 2015 and 2018 in Uzhhorod – at the Slovak Centre for Culture and in the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic.
