"Vereta" exhibition in Ostroh

On 9 November 2017, in the Art Underground Gallery of the Museum of History under the National University of Ostroh Academy it was opened "Vereta" exhibition.

It was created by the Public Organisation "Association of Creative Women of Transcarpathia “New Form” with the support of the Art & Culture Foundation Brovdi Art, Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian State Administration and the National University of Ostroh Academy. The wife of the President of Ukraine Maryna Poroshenko opened the exposition after the meeting of the international platform "Ostroh Forum 2017".

"Vereta" presents the works of four Transcarpathian artists, members of the Transcarpathian organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine – Odarka Dolhosh, Olena Kondratiuk, Liudmyla Korzh-Radko and Nadiia Ponomarenko. The exhibition is part of the project "Art Unites Ukraine". The artists presented about 50 paintings, which are characterized by individual features, but all together create a single structure of "painting canvas."

Uzhhorod artists have repeatedly presented their work under a variety of cultural and art projects both in Ukraine and abroad. Their common credo is to preserve their creative individuality. Every time each of the four authors demonstrates it at the exposition space.

The theme of Odarka Dolhosh’s works reflects the image of the ancient family tree of the artist with the typical family symbols, photographs and objects that raise more questions than answers. The works of Olena Kondratiuk lead the viewer into the world of the life-asserting present, symbolic secrets in the eternal theme of a woman in love. The author fascinates with emotional content, using bright and rich colours appropriate to the content. Quite the opposite as to the succinctness of composition and tenderness of the colours are the works of Liudmyla Korzh-Radko. Her feminine images radiate balance, calmness, and the theme of motherhood unobtrusively recalls a variety of memories and associations. The paintings of Nadiia Ponomarenko don’t leave the viewers indifferent. They impress with the imaginary and at the same time real things in their symbolic figurativeness.

The presented paintings of the creative studios of Odarka Dolhosh, Liudmyla Korzh-Radko, Nadiia Ponomarenko (all of them are the associate professors of the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts) as well as Olena Kondratiuk keep on developing in new forms of the present.

The "Vereta" exhibition has already been presented in Uzhhorod, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Rivne. It will last for two weeks In Ostroh.
