2019
On 24 May 2019, in the gallery “Uzhhorod”, it was opened a personal exhibition of paintings on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Honoured Artist of Ukraine Vitalii Slobodskyi. The artist presented three dozen works, most of which have been performed over the past two or three years.ф
Vitalii Slobodskyi is an incredible master of a realistic manner of writing. His works so accurately convey the reality that every viewer will involuntarily feel present at the moment when the artist created the canvas. The artist skilfully conveys the atmosphere of that moment, which he depicts, it seems, if you delve into that written world, you will feel how the wind whispers in the crowns of trees or the birds sleep in the wilds of the forest… In general, the artist is so free to play with tones and semitones, with light and shade, that each of his works seems to glow from within, and the most important thing on it is what the author wishes to attract the attention of the reader, – underlined, shaded in a special way, with the help of various artistic techniques and means. And this is the unique style of the artist – he, like anyone else can create mood, sensuality, and convey a moment.
In a thematic sense, the artist is inspired by the everyday life of his countrymen, as well as the unique beauty of the nature of the native land. Actually, most of the submitted works depict wonderful sceneries of Velykyi Bereznyi region, in particular, the tract Ruskyi Mochar. Despite this, there are thematic compositions (“Bake Bread”, “Babyn Yar”), as well as a number of portraits. At the last canvases – people close to the artist, his family, grandchildren. “My family and nature is my daily inspiration, the undying source of ideas,” V. Slovobskyi says.
Honoured artist of Ukraine Ivan Didyk who was present at the exhibition noted the main, in his view, feature of creativity of Vitalii Slobodskyi: “He is an extremely sincere artist, interested in various topics, but the most important thing, it seems to me, and the most interesting of his techniques is romance, some special love, love for his land, the place where he lives”.
The exhibition of Vitalii Slobodskyi in the gallery “Uzhhorod” will last until 6 June 2019.
