VINKOVSKYІ VІACHESLAV

Honoured Artist of Ukraine (2008). Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1993). Laureate of the National Symposium of Pottery "Opishne-2000".

He was born in Mankivtsi village, Khmelnytskyi region. In 1976, he graduated from the Uzhhorod College of Applied Arts, in 1981 – Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, his teachers were B. Horbaliuk, V. Panasyk, H. Yanko. Since 1989, he has been a lecturer at the Uzhhorod Children's Art School. Since 1989 - a member of the creative groups in Sedniv. At the first national pottery symposium in Opishne (2000) he received the Honourable Prize "For Decorativeness". Since 2000 – the head of the Department of Applied Arts of the Transcarpathian Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Lecturer of the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts of the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts.

He works in the field of ceramics and animalistic sculpture. A lot of works are performed in co-authorship with his wife Myroslava Rosul. The works of Vinkovskyi are both the illustration of what a ceramic sculpture should be: with soft, smooth transitions, rounded, blurred lines. He is characterized by restraint and extreme delicacy in the application of colour. The artist experiments with mass, compound forms, the inclusion of colour and geometric decoration in the composition. Appeal to the ancient cultures is not only the leading theme of creativity, but also an object of serious scientific interests of the artist. In his works one can find Trypillian ornamentation, elements of primitive cultural horizons. In general, as noted by art critics, there is a deep interest of the artist in the aesthetics of simplicity, understatement, space for the intellectual work of thought.

Since 1984 – a regular participant of regional, all-Ukrainian and international art exhibitions, an active participant of symposiums of art ceramics. Personal exhibitions-in Uzhhorod, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Lviv. The works were purchased by the directorate of exhibitions of the National Art University of Ukraine by the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine, the Museum of Modern Art of Khmelnytskyi, as well as in the collections of galleries of Hungary, the Czech Republic, Canada, Ukraine.
