An artist, painter
Member of the Society of Hungarian Artists of Fine and Applied Arts of Transcarpathia named after Imre Revesz (2014).
Tiberij Villashek was born on 22 June 1959 in Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region. He has been engaged in art since his childhood. The first teacher of a young artist was his father, Rudolf Villashek, who, in his turn, studied at Adalbert Erdeli. The father passed Tiberij his experience in painting and art techniques.
Since 1975, the artist has become a regular participant of creative plein airs with his father under the guidance of such artists as Z. Sholtes, G. Gluck, E. Kontratovych and Y. Hertz. It was these classics of the Transcarpathian school of painting that became the main professional mentors of the artist.
In his work, the artist prefers oil painting in a realistic manner. Among the genres, there are landscapes, still lifes, mountain and rural landscapes, as well as sea sceneries. From the first glance at the artist’s works, it becomes clear that he is a passionate supporter of the traditional Transcarpathian classical school. This is primarily seen in the colours of the artist's works: on his canvases, there is the whole palette of colours of the generous Carpathian land, summer or autumn landscapes are shimmered with all the shades of green-emerald, orange, and red, snow is covered with low winter sun, illuminated by red and lilac colours.… Clear, but sometimes it seems chaotic brush strokes of the artist create a sense of presence in the fairy-tale mountain region which the artist likes so much.
In 1974, the artist first participated in the city exhibition (Mukachevo). Since then, he has been an active participant in the city and regional exhibitions. In 1985 – participant in exhibitions in Kyiv, Poltava and Kharkiv. Since 1996 – permanent participant in international creative plein airs in Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Germany (2017) ended with the exhibition of works. In 2007, Tiberij Villashek became a co-founder and member of the Carpathian-Hungarian Cultural Association (Nyiregyhaza, Hungary). In 2008, he was a member of the International Triennale (Kisward, Hungary). This year the author's works took part in a collective exhibition in the Consulate General of Romania in Chernivtsi. In February 2018, a personal exhibition of the artist took place in Budapest (Hungary).
A lot of the artist’s works are in private collections of Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, Austria, France, the USA and Australia.
