Albina Tabaka was born in 1989 in Uzhhorod, Transcarpathian region. Art’s surrounded and fascinated the girl since her childhood. Albina recalls when her father brought tubes of paints and she meditatively squeezed it out mixing different colours on coloured cardboard. The formation and development of her creative personality and worldview were significantly influenced by her father – a painter Taras Tabaka, who became her mentor.
From 2004 to 2007, she was studying at the Uzhhorod College of Arts named after A. Erdeli, where her teachers were Volodymyr Mykyta, Pavlo Balla, as well as Anton Kovach, Lesia Pryimych, Nadiia and Ivan Didyk. Subsequently, she became the 3rd year student of the Transcarpathian Art Institute, choosing the speciality “Fine, Decorative and Applied Arts”. She studied under the guidance of Vasyl Skakandii, got a qualification of a painter-pedagogue in 2011.
In 2010, Albina became a member of the non-profit association Art Union of the Carpathian region supporting the culture of the Carpathian region.
The artist works mainly in the technique of oil painting without restricting herself to certain genres and styles. She believes that the formation of the artist lasts for a lifetime because it is an endless path of search, improvement, and insights. As noted by art critics, Albina likes to create guided by emotional impulse. She creates the works that evoke a response from the viewers, the desire to remain alone with oneself and colour when the process of contemplation turns into a kind of meditation. The artist herself says that she is inspired by the creativity of G. Richter, A. Kifer, D. Hirst, G. Helnwein, J. Pollock, A. Renoir, E. Degas, C. Monet, E. Manet, C. Pissarro, P. Cézanne, A. Modigliani, and G. Klimt.
Concerning her inner beliefs, Albina Tabaka notes: “I remain faithful to the idea that art is a no-one’s land – it belongs to everyone and at the same time to no one. My credo tells that art is a quintessence of an artist's life. That is, an integral component.”
Albina Tabaka began her active exhibition activity when a student. From 2004 to 2007, she was an active participant in student conferences, exhibitions, in particular, she took part in exhibitions “March cats”, “May wanderings”. Participant in international plein airs.
In 2017, the work of the young artist “Abstraction” was presented at the exhibition “Process-3. The newest Realism”. An art critic Oksana Havrosh said about it as follows: “It is always difficult to consciously say goodbye to the landscape of the past amazement. The images of natural beauty – as if mixed with white, covered with the waxy veil of Madame Tussauds, gradually disappear in memory, leaving only the uneven surfaces on the canvas. As a satisfaction of resistance. As a fact of existence under any circumstances ...”
