He was born in Dmytrivka village, Timiriaziievskyi district of the North Kazakhstan region (Kazakhstan). In 1934, together with his parents he moved to Troitsk, Cheliabinsk region, Russia, where the future artist grew up among the picturesque landscapes. There he graduated from the Factory College, and in 1939 he was called for military service in Transbaikal region. Participant of the Second World War. From the first day he took part in the defence of Smolensk and Moscow. He was decorated with the Order of the Great Patriotic War of the II grade, medals "For Distinguished Service", "For the Defence of Moscow", "For the Liberation of Warsaw". From 1945 to 1953, he served in the border troops in Transcarpathia. Subsequently, until 1988, he worked at the enterprises of Uzhhorod, in particular, he was a designer at "Uzhhorodprylad" for twenty-five years.
The creative activity of the artist began in 1950, when he first took part in the All-Union Exhibition of Works of Fine Art of Soldiers-Border Guards in Moscow. There he received a special diploma-award from the Jury.
On the canvases of the artist there are a lot of remarkable mountain landscapes and valleys of Transcarpathia and the Caucasus. The artist's palette is multi-coloured, like nature, surrounded by which he was born and lived: restrained colours dominate in some paintings, others have bright, classical colours. The master preferred pastel and oil technique.
He was fond of graphics, in particular, in 2004, at the last exhibition in Uzhhorod he presented about a hundred graphic works.
Participant of the city, regional and republican exhibitions since 1956. In 1969, 1980, 1989, 1994, 1999 and 2004 in Uzhhorod there were personal exhibitions of the artist. Works of the master are kept in private collections in the USA, Israel, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Russia.
