SOPILNIAK TETIANA

She was born in Poti (Georgia). She graduated from the Metal Art Department of the Uzhhorod School of Applied Arts (1978) and Art and Graphic Faculty of the Odesa State Pedagogical Institute named after K. D. Ushynskyi (1988). In 1980–2003, she worked as a director of travelling exhibition at Uzhhorod College of Arts named after A. Erdeli. Since 2000-the participant of regional and all-Ukrainian collective art exhibitions and plein airs. She organized five personal exhibitions in Kyiv, Uzhhorod, Mukachevo. The member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 2008.

Her art is diverse: painting, drawing, collage, artistic ceramics. Her paintings mainly depict people, houses, birds, and flowers, native Uzhhorod. They impressed by the high level of mastery, femininity, sincerity, purity, harmony of colours. From the realism in her work she gradually shifted to the decorative direction. It is her particular vision of seemingly usual things and as the artist herself says: “It is always a search for self-expression, transforming of the real world into my fictional one.”
