SLOBODSKA LIUBOV

Liubov Slobodska (Tovkach)

Member of the Association of Professional Painters of Transcarpathia (2011), National Union of Artists of Ukraine (2013).

She was born in Tovkachi village, Ovrutskyi district, Zhytomyr region. From 1966 to 1971, she studied at the Painting and Graphic Faculty of the Odesa State Pedagogical Institute named after K. Ushynskyi. Her teacher was Viktor Efymenko. In 1973, together with her husband – an artist Vitalii Slobodskyi, she moved to Transcarpathia. She worked at Velykyi Bereznyi school, an inter-school educational and production complex, in the gymnasium named after F. Zubanych. She taught fine art, drawing, ethics and aesthetics, modelling and sewing of women's clothes.

The artist’s favourite genres are landscape, still life and thematic compositions. The main fine art techniques – oil, pastel and gel pen. She likes to work in plein airs, reproducing on her canvases the landscapes of the native Bereznyanschyna land. Liubov’s paintings are ladylike cute, painted in warm colour tones, her style is restrained. In her works, the artist reproduces the surrounding nature of the Carpathians, the way of life and customs of the Verkhovyna’s people, flowers blossoming, and the like.

Active exhibition activity was started in 2002. Participant in numerous art plein airs, regional and all-Ukrainian exhibitions. Personal exhibitions were held in Kyiv (2004), Ovruch (2007), Uzhhorod (2010, 2012, 2017).
