SIRKO VIKTOR

Member of the Creative Association of Professional Artists of Transcarpathia. Нe іs representative of the modern generation of Transcarpathian artists. In the childhood he studied painting in Studio of Fine Arts of Zoltan Bakoniia (1976-1980). Great influence on the creative vision of the artist had his father – an artist Ivan Sirko. In 1985, he graduated from Uzhhorod College of Applied Arts (his teachers were: V. Hanhur, V. Demydiuk, I. Didyk, I. Masniuk). After graduation he started active creative work. In 1987 – 1993, he worked at Lviv Art and Advertising Complex. After that, he lived and worked in the Czech Republic (1999 – 2005) for some time. His first personal exhibition was held in 1999 in Czech city Ostrava. Since then, almost every year the artist has held personal exhibitions, participated in collective exhibitions and plein-airs in Ukraine and abroad.

He works in easel painting. Among the genres he prefers landscapes and still lifes. Thanks to interesting art impressiions and original realistic manner of painting, the artist takes confident positions among the modern Transcarpathian landscape painters. His painting is impressionable, pastose, created in warm colours with masterful colours combination. In his canvases it is expertly reproduced mountain panoramas of native Carpathians, Verkhovyna villages, and city sceneries. Poetic relationship of man and nature is depicted in numerous author’s still lifes which are like theatrical scenes with flowers being the main characters. As the artist admits, his "vocation to painting is great strength, energy, and beauty of our rich Carpathian nature"! Works of the artist are kept in private collections and galleries in Ukraine and numerous European countries.
