SHELEVYTSKYI YURII

He was born in Rivne. He lives and works in Transcarpathia. In 1995 he graduated from Uzhhorod College of Applied Art, in 2011 - Transcarpathian Art Institute. The artist works as a teacher of the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts. He is the member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 2008. And since 1998 he has been the participant of regional, all-Ukrainian and international exhibitions, as well as plein-airs, painting triennials (Mukachevo, Yasinia, Uzhhorod, Kyiv, Nemyriv, and also foreign in Romania, Slovakia and Hungary). In 2010 he had personal exhibitions in Mukachevo and Uzhhorod.

Generally, the artist works in painting and graphics. He experiments with different materials - pastel, acrylic, tempera, pencil. The artist is actively interested in ethnography of the Carpathian region. However, the work of the master - not copying of some elements of everyday life or national traditions, but search for his own creative decisions, experimental colour combinations. The artist’s works are stored at the Museum of Folk Art of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttia named after I. Kobrynskyi (Kolomyia), Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum named after I. Bokshai (Uzhhorod), Museum of Modern Art of Ukraine (Kyiv) and in private collections.
