MANAILO-PRYKHODKO VIKTORIIA

Historian, lecturer, member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine. Member of the Jury of Student Contest in Painting “Silver Easel” (2016).

She was born in Uzhhorod in the family of one of the founders of the Transcarpathian school of painting, People's Artist of Ukraine Fedir Manailo (Viktoriia is his granddaughter). From 2007 to 2013 she studied at the History Department of Uzhhorod National University, within the same years – in the Transcarpathian Art Institute. Her teachers were A. Kovach, V. Skakandii. At the end of the institute she entered the post-graduate course of the Lviv National Academy of Arts (art history). Lecturer of the Department of Fine Arts of the College of Arts named after A. Erdeli of Transcarpathian Academy of Arts. Since 2016-the head of the Memorial House Museum of F. Manailo.

In her art works she prefers content to form. Her paintings are not just a reflection of reality, but the comprehension through her own prism, feelings. The artist experiments with both technique  and styles of canvases’ creation. The subjects of works - traditions, rituals, folk costumes, legends  of Transcarpathia. “It's more interesting for me to paint a still-life with my own interpretation. To create an interesting composition, to invent non-existent flowers, to deform objects, to introduce an eloquent colour tone, to apply modern painting language - then you create, conditionally speaking, a new visual reality, a new interpretation of familiar things, and by your work you assert the right to the existence of such an interpretation,” the artist says.

The artist has a large collection of portraits – children, adults, couples ("Andriiko", "Janis", "György Drugeth V", "My brother Andrii", "My daughter Katerynka-Irma"); the series "Portraits of figures of higher education in Transcarpathia" (2013).

Participant of regional, all-Ukrainian, foreign art exhibitions (since 2010). Participant of exhibitions in Uzhhorod and Vac (Hungary). The artist's solo exhibition was held in Lviv (2016), Priashev (Slovakia, 2017).
