Biography

Member of the youth association of Transcarpathian organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. He was born in Mukachevo. He graduated from the city children's art school named after M. Munkácsy and the Transcarpathian Art Institute (2013). Acquaintance with the world of painting and formation of the artist's creative personality was influenced by famous Transcarpathian artists A. Kopryva, Z. Mychka, I. Lutsenko, Yu. Shelevytskyi, A. Ivancho, and A. Kovach. In November 2017, S. Lakatosh finished postgraduate studies of the Lviv National Academy of Arts and simultaneously teaches at the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts. He is engaged in scientific work, he studies the history and practice of art casting in Transcarpathia.

The artist is neither afraid of experimenting with colours or with techniques, nor with genres–there are portraits, still-lifes, landscapes among his works, graphics alternate with pastel sketches. It seems that every next work or series is the next stage of testing his own strengths and capabilities.

He is the participant of regional, all-Ukrainian, international art exhibitions and plein air. In August 2017 he held a solo exhibition of still lifes under the titled "Colour" in Uzhhorod. The author’s creativity is extremely variegated and indicates an active search for his own style and individual style of painting.
