KUZMA VIKTORIIA

Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (2011), laureate of the Regional Prize named after Y. Bokshai and A. Erdeli (2013). She was born in Uzhhorod. In 1996, she graduated from the Uzhhorod School of Applied and Decorative Arts, in 2004-History Faculty of Uzhhorod National University. Since 1995 she worked at the Transcarpathian Regional Centre for Scientific and Technical Creativity of Youth, holding the positions of the head of Group for Decorative and Fine Arts, grade supervisor, head of the Organizational Department. Since 2003-Deputy Director of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Transcarpathia. Her students participated in numerous regional, national exhibitions, contests, creative projects, becoming both laureates and prize-winners. She was awarded with the badges “Honoured Educator of Ukraine” (1999) and “Sofiia Rusova” (2007).

Since 2016 she has been working as a lecturer at the History Faculty of Uzhhorod National University. Since 1999-an active participant of regional, all-Ukrainian and international art exhibitions. The first personal exhibition entitled “Meditation on Glass” was held in December 2016 in Uzhhorod, where she presented about 30 selected works. The winner of the regional exhibition-contest “Graphic Transcarpathia-2017”.
The artist works mainly in one art direction-glass painting. And, despite her works are based on the traditions of folk artists of this genre - Hutsul and Romanian glass icons, they are interpreted through the prism of the master’s world view.
In her works (iconography on glass, still lifes and thematic compositions), she successfully combines classical forms with elements of modernism. The main emphasis in the works is made on colour. The saturation of the palette combined with the transparency and tonal gradations of the glass fill the compositions with interesting sound and special charm, create the impression of unusual fluidity and smoothness of images and feelings.
