KOVACH DANYLO

He was born in Zaporizhzhia. Since his childhood, he painted and knew what he wanted to be, since he was growing up in the family of the famous Transcarpathian artist Pavlo Kovach. He was watching the work of his father, admired his paintings, moreover he communicated with the artists, which also left its mark. Since 2002, he studied at the Uzhhorod Children's Art School in the class of the well-known Transcarpathian artist and pedagogue Emma Levadska, then-at the Uzhhorod College of Arts named after Adalbert Erdeli. In 2005, he won the International Children's and Youth Contest “Silver Bell” in Uzhhorod ("Painting" Nomination).  Member of the Youth Association of Transcarpathian Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (2010). In 2016, he graduated from the Lviv National Academy of Arts (Department of Sacral Art).

The artist belongs to a pleiad of contemporary artists who move away from the traditions of the classical school of painting, looking for their own, individual way of expression. Аccordingly, the works of such artists are often perceived by the audience as something unexpected, even unbelievable-in which one should seek for not so much aesthetic beauty, but for a hidden underlying subtext, a philosophical interpretation of being ("Information Exchange", "Ghosts of Trees", "X-ray"). About this, as well as about his creativity, the artist himself says: “I'm in search now, but in the future I do not want to limit myself to style frames. I paint what I see, feel, imagine, but not what is "dictated" be a certain style. Everything that I convey on paper, I first pass through myself, fill it with myself, and only then I give it the opportunity to see the world.”

The artist has an incredibly rich imagination, boldly goes beyond the usual, well-established things, experiments with techniques, a lot of his works are performed by the author's technique of linocut. He admits that anything can be an inspiration for him, but above all-a specific perception of the world by himself. “I do not adhere to generally accepted standards, for each situation I have my own opinion and I try to convey it in such a way to people,” the artist says.

Member of regional and international plein airs, various art projects in Ukraine, Slovakia, and Poland. The author of several personal exhibitions in Uzhhorod, Lviv, and Kyiv.
