Kinch Mykhailo

Member of the Creative Union of Artists "Carpathian Colours".

He was born in Repynne-Sukhyi village, Mizhhiria district of the Transcarpathian region. He started studying art in the walls of the Uzhhorod School of Applied Arts at the department of wood processing and graduated in 1963. The artist began his career at a comprehensive school of Synevyr village, Mizhhiria district, and later he worked at the Mizhhiria Professional College No. 12. The artist continued his activity in the art studio of Mizhhiria village and later in the art complex "Colour".

He is an author of numerous genre compositions, thematic paintings, wonderful chamber graphics, mosaics, deeply inspired portraits, works of sacred art and numerous church paintings. Creativity of the artist is nourished by rich traditions of folk art.

A significant part of the creative work of the artist is landscape compositions: he creates beautiful landscapes, tends to convey different states of nature, from the moment of day awakening to the trembling minutes of the sunset. The favourite landscape theme - a mountain landscape, in general the Carpathians in all their beauty - this is one of his favourite themes. He likes still life, they are traditional in content: depicted are simple objects - pot flowers, fruits, utensils. With amazing elegance, the artist depicts a complex harmony of natural shades on the canvas. As noted by art historians, "... colours - is the element of the artist."

A lot of the artist’s works are made of wood. The artist is pleased to be engaged in carving, with the main theme of his works being life of the mountain people, their beliefs, traditions, customs, life.

Participant of numerous district, regional, and republican art exhibitions, plein airs. The artist's works are kept in numerous private collections.
