Biography

He was born in Mykolaiv region. He lives and works in Uzhhorod. The artist studied at the school for graphic designers. In 1987 he graduated from the History Faculty of Uzhhorod State University, and in 1993 - Faculty of Fine and Graphic Arts under Odesa Pedagogical Institute named after K. D. Ushynskyi. He has been the member of the National Artists Union of Ukraine since 1995. Permanent member of regional, national and international art exhibitions since 1986. He held more than ten personal expositions in Ukraine, Russia, Hungary, Slovakia.

Within the art space of Transcarpathia he is an original and iconic personality, who combines traditions and experience of regional painting school with author's intuitive formulas and means of visual expression. He is sensitive to various, sometimes polar, style experiments - from traditional realism to non-figurative imagery, the artist even more often uses subjectless art reflections, subtly comprehends and defines intellectual and aesthetic climate of today. He gets rid of natural descriptive style of painting, creates difficult philosophical images which impress with great power, intrigue with depth and polysemy. The artist’s works are stored in private collections of numerous countries, purchased by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and Sumy Art Museum.
