FEDIAIEV OLEKSANDR

Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (2006).

He was born on 28 July 1962 in Kostryno village, Velykyi Bereznyi district, Transcarpathia. He earned art education at the Uzhhorod Art College in 1988, and then in Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts. His teachers were A. Konstantynopolskyi, Y. Vintaiev, and V. Kovtun. It was in Kharkiv that the artist remained to work.

He creates predominantly painting canvases. Prefers oil. The genre's palette of his paintings is diverse, there are portraits, and still lifes, and genre compositions. The works of the artist are full of rich colours and plot simplicity. His paintings are motley with colourful multi-figure sketches. The artist also likes landscapes, he paints both the Carpathians and colourful glades of Slobozhanshchyna. The artist’s landscapes are made by a wide, confident stroke, with a sense of absolute authenticity of the depicted thing. His winter landscapes are especially nice.

According to art critics, with his paintings, the artist passionately declares his love for his native land. In his works, it is felt a dramatic tension and sensual completeness of painting, the compositional integrity of the plot. It sounds equally striking in the artist’s still lifes and landscapes. This intense completeness is very topical. A new stage of rethinking and correlation of relations with the world and itself pass through it. In his creativity the artist is guided by the following credo: "Realism is a style of life."

In 1992, he joined the Creative Association of Professional Artists of Transcarpathia.

An active participant in regional and all-Ukrainian exhibitions. Participant in the 11th International "Repinskyi" plein air in Chuhuiv. Permanent participant in the Transcarpathian plein airs. He lives and works in Kharkiv.

In 2012, in "Vydavnytstvo Oleksandry Harkushi" it was issued a catalogue of the artist’s works.
