Biography
Laureate of the regional prize named after Y. Bokshai and A. Erdeli (1996, 2009, 2015, 2017).
He graduated from the Uzhhorod school of applied arts, woods art faculty. Disciple of V. Svyda, A. Shepa, M. Medvetskyi. He began his artistic career as a wood carver. However, soon he was actively involved in painting while taking part in the collective exhibitions and was under the influence of the outstanding masters of the Transcarpathian school: E. Kontratovych, A. Kotska, A. Kashshai, Z. Sholtes, G. Gluck, V. Mykyta. Since the late 70-ies he has been a permanent participant of the regional, all-Ukrainian and foreign art exhibitions. Since 1989 he is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
He works in tempera and oil easel painting. The author of landscapes and, above all, multi-figure narrative compositions. His style of art is interesting and has an original manner. Optimistic and sincere artist's works are the swirling action of people's life, work, customs and folklore that organically interwoven into the fairy nature of the native land. His crowded scenes, masterfully painted to the smallest details and characters, have something in common with the paintings of the famous Netherlander Pieter Bruegel the Elder.
