TSIUPKO OREST

Member of the creative association "Artist of Verkhovyna". He was born in Lviv. In 1989б he graduated from the State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts in Lviv (Department of Ceramics), his pedagogues were prof. M. Ostrovskyi, Y. Skandakov, Y. Mysko. Despite the creative activity, he is engaged in social work: in 2007 he became the organizer and head of the international plein air "Khust-ART", in 2012 he became the head of the Khust City Art Gallery.

The artist's works are extremely diverse and rich; several hundred paintings perfectly demonstrate the fullness of his creative nature. As the artist himself admits, he does what he wants, what “in his heart”.

Orest Tsiupko's painting is executed on a variety of topics and subjects, ranging from depicting landscapes of his native land, rural life or seascapes, ending with religious, sometimes-to a certain extent, philosophical, deeply penetrating works. On his canvases there are not only characters or objects, there is something much more-mood, feelings, thoughts. The author easily gives various motifs, he boldly experiments with the palette, plays with colours that fall on the canvas like gentle pastel stains or explode in bright lines and strokes. As art critics point out, working in different styles, the artist does not aim to create something to surprise the world. It is more important for him to express himself in every picture as he likes, observing strictness and grace, even sophistication. Since 1992 Orest Tsiupko - a participant of regional and national art exhibitions and plein airs. Since 2006 he has participated in international art projects in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Latvia, Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, Lithuania, Sweden, Austria.
