Biography
Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (1989). The laureate of the Regional Prize named after Y. Bokshai and A. Erdeli in fine arts (2006). He was born in Uzhhorod. Fundamental knowledge in drawing and painting he got at the children art studio of well-known pedagogue Zoltan Bakoniia. In 1975, he graduated from the biological faculty of Uzhhorod State University, then he entirely devoted himself to art. The object of his work is nature, inspired by the presence of living beings. The author tries to be very sincere and honest in reproducing character and mood.
Compositionally his works are always fresh and not stereotyped. It is extremely difficult to determine their genre or other features, they are original and unique. He opened his own way of colour interpretation and learned to use it in a kind of modulation when with tinted grey a neutral background is covered by coloured strokes which receive additional unusual sound and create amazing harmony. As a result, the artist's work is considered to be one of the trends of contemporary Transcarpathian art. Interesting are the conceptual and interactive works of the artist, their names as well as names of exhibitions, series of works, texts to the exhibited material evidence his outstanding literary talent.
Since 1976 he has been the participant of regional, national, and foreign (Hungary, Denmark, France, Italy) art exhibitions. Personal exhibitions: Debrecen (1993), Budapest (1995, 1998). He participates in various cultural projects.
