The Regional Prize named after Yosyp Bokshai and Adalbert Erdeli for 2018

On 16 April 2019, in the hall-atrium of the Transcarpathian regional state administration, it was held the annual ceremony of awarding Regional Prize winners in the field of literature and art for 2018.

The Regional Prize named after Yosyp Bokshai and Adalbert Erdeli in the field of fine arts and decorative and applied art was founded in 1995 to support the development of professional art in the province and named after the coryphaei of Transcarpathian Fine Art School.

The commemorative diplomas were handed to laureates by the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadii Moskal and the Acting Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Yosyp Borto. The solemnity of the moment was created with vocal and musical accompaniment, and the environment of the picturesque canvases by the famous artist and art historian Viktoriia Manailo-Prykhodko intensified the feeling of celebration.

Consequently, the winners of the regional prize named after Yosyp Bokshaj and Adalbert Erdeli in the field of fine arts and decorative and applied art for 2018 became:

– in the nomination “painting”: Pavlo Kovach (Senior), artist-painter, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine for the work “The Cold Wind Nord Vest”;

– in the nomination “graphics”: Marianna Malesh, graphic artist, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine for the work “Composition based on the poem by V. Sosiura “Indian Summer”;

– in the nomination “sculpture”: Eleonora Trompak, artist-sculptor, teacher of drawing and art history of Ltd. Computer academy “SHAH” Transcarpathia for the sculptural work “Despite”;

– in the nomination “monumental art”: Andrian Baloh, sculptor, Honored Artist of Ukraine for the monument to Adalbert Erdeli in Klymovytsia village, Irshava district;

– in the nomination “decorative and applied art”: Olena Derda, artist in applied art, teacher of professional disciplines of Transcarpathian Academy of Arts for the work “Nocturne For A Small Town”;

– in the nomination “art-study work”: Mykhailo Pryimych, a Ph.D. in the history of art, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts of the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts, Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine for the monograph “Church Professional Painting Of Transcarpathia”.

In his speech, the laureate of the prize, art historian Mykhailo Pryimych accurately noticed that silent art can be extremely remarkable at the same time.

The solemn ceremony was crowned with awarding the Certificate of Honour of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration to the famous artist, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Viktoriia Manailo-Prykhodko – for a significant contribution to the development of the region’s art.
