Modern Art Research Institute of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine announces a competition of theoretical works, which provides for the monetary award in the amount of 15 000 UAH, as well as accepting applications for participation in the visual programme of the project “Anatomy of Simulacra”.
The goal of the project is to create conditions for interdisciplinary interaction and the study of contemporary art in the framework of the annual platform "Latest Directions". This year's theme: “Visual culture in the context of the phenomenon of hyper-reality”.

Implementation of the project involves:
1. The announcement of the contest of theoretical works in the field of visual culture.
2. Open call to participate in the project.
3. Presentation of the exhibition of artworks in the Modern Art Research Institute of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (November 2018).
4. Announcement and awarding of the finalists of the contest of theoretical works in the field of visual culture (January 2019).
5. Publishing of the project catalogue with the visual and theoretical programme of the project.
Applications for participation (with previously unpublished theoretical work of 10-20 thousand characters and the author's CV) in the contest of theoretical works in the field of visual culture are accepted electronically to This email address is being protected from spambots. The visual programme will be attended by the artists selected within the open call by the project curators. Applications for participation in the exhibition of artworks (with an image, description, concept of the artwork and the author’s CV) are accepted electronically to This email address is being protected from spambots. According to the results of the contest, there will be announced a short list of the participants, as well as awarded will be three finalists who will receive cash prizes and gifts. The main prize of the contest is 15 000 UAH. The theoretical works, included in the short list of the contest, will be published in the project catalogue.
