"Art appeal of Eduard Prykhodko"

On 14 September 2018, in the halls of the Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum named after Y. Bokshai, it was opened an exhibition of works “Art appeal of Eduard Prykhodko”. The artist presented about four dozen works performed at different periods of time.

Eduard Prykhodko is a Transcarpathian artist who works in easel painting. Since 2006, he has been the member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. He creates figurative and abstract compositions. Prefers conditional, stylized solutions. His works are kept in private collections of Ukraine and abroad, as well as at the Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum named after Y. Bokshai. Participant in the regional, all-Ukrainian and foreign exhibitions, international biennales of painting.

2018 was, in general, extremely fruitful for the artist: On 2 January, he presented his personal exhibition in the art cafe Voto in Uzhhorod; on 16 February he presented his works in Kropyvnytskyi. In addition, the works of Eduard Prykhodko were presented at the exhibition of contemporary art "Goodbye Word!" in Uzhhorod and Kyiv.

The exposition presented at the museum is a creative report of the author inviting to a dialogue with the viewers, to a confidential conversation with a contemporary about the positives and dissonances of our existence, this is a proposal of co-authorship in creating an image.

According to art historians, a remarkable feature of Eduard Prykhodko, a student of the Uzhhorod art college and Transcarpathian Academy of Arts, is a harmonious combination of seemingly non-consistent methods of depiction – recognizable realistic reflections of natural observations harmoniously coexist with conditional abstract reproducing full of the author's inner feelings, thoughts and sufferings.

Adhering to restrained, close to the monochrome palette, the artist uses a wide range of textural forms with a layer by layer relief and pastose applying of paints. This creates a special plastic and light-shadow effect. His favourite colour range – golden-bronze and pearly-silver colours, through which a multicolour tonality of the lower layers is illuminated.

The attractiveness of Eduard Prykhodko's paintings is in the extreme fusion of a personal, independent author's approach to the topic, the creativity of thinking and bright picturesque temperament. In his works, there is a solid knowledge of classical painting, the identity of the Transcarpathian school, good professional training, unrestrained striving for self-expression and self-sufficiency. And this is precisely the key to his future creative success.

Exhibition of Eduard Prykhodko’s works will be held at the Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum named after Y. Bokshai within two weeks until 30 September 2018.
