On April 21 an original event "Cherry Blossom" – a one-day plein air – was organized in Uzhhorod with the united efforts of the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, the Regional Union of Artists and Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum named after Y. Bokshai.
Within the framework of the event, there were several tasks, the main one of which is the actual plein air on the streets of the city among blossoming trees. It is not for the first time when Cherry trees, as one of Uzhhorod`s visiting cards, become the object of art interest and it is not for the first time that an attempt is made to render with oil and acrylic colours the spring beauty of these trees, incredible pink colour of the flowers and frantic redundancy of luxuriant blossoming. A final stage of plein air took place at 13.00 in the courtyard of the Art Museum: the paintings were exhibited in the open air and it was also provided the refreshments for the participants and visitors.
The exposed works were on sale and part of the funds gained was aimed at the treatment of a seriously ill child.Artists participated in the event: V. Vovchok, Ya. Dulenko, I. Didyk, O. Malesh, B. Kuzma, Yu. Bodnar, O. Fedor, L. Pryimych, O. Kondratiuk, T. Usyk, V. Habda, M. Shete, V. Kadar, V. Vinkovskyi, M. Rosul, L. Korzh-Radko, A. Peresta, Ya. Katran, N. Savchur.
