2017
On 1 December 2017, in the exhibition hall of the Book and Printing Museum of Ukraine in Kyiv, it was opened the exhibition of the Voitovychs spouse under the title "Industrial Nature".
It presents 34 paintings, most of which created during this year and have not been shown to the public yet. Oil and acrylic paintings are prevailing at the exposition. This is not the first project of artistic couple – they have already organized the joint exhibitions in Lviv, Ternopil, Kyiv, and Budapest.
According to Ivanka Voitovych, the "Industrial Nature" project is a series of works by two authors, who immerse the viewer in different atmospheres of human existence. "On the one hand, it is a penetrating contemplation of pure nature, on the other - "sentimental and ironic" admiring of the products of the industry,” said the artist. A man seems to live in two parallel worlds. We strive for calm, breath of clean air and feel the need for evergreen "paradise", but at the same time we are attracted by the industry of megalopolis, consumption of favourite products."
According to Ivanka, the very essence of the person causes the sense of incomprehensibility of our true desires, and at the same time a certain irony of ostensibly clear aspirations to improve the comfort of everyday life.
This is the theme of the paintings by Ivanka and Oleksandr Voitovych. Interestingly, both artists prepared their works for this exhibition separately. In particular, Ivanka worked on the "emotional component of nature" (by the way, some paintings from this series have already been presented to the public at the joint exhibition with her father Ivan Didyk in Uzhhorod). And Oleksandr, in his turn, was studying the industrial aesthetics. The exhibition presents some artist's paintings from the "Made in UA" series, which he is working on now, as well.
The exhibition "Industrial Nature" will last until the end of the year.
