Biography

He was born on 12 February 1980 in Chynadievo village, Mukachevo district, Transcarpathian region. He has been interested in art since childhood, he says that the realization of his calling came by itself. And then there was an art school, and in 1995 – Uzhhorod College of Arts named after A. Erdeli, where his teachers were Anton Kovach and Vasyl Roman.

In 1999 he entered the Lviv Academy of Arts, the department "Art Glass" (the head of the department was Oles Zvir). The Academy hosted a master class by Andrii Bokotei, also his teachers were Andrii Petrovskyi and Ivan Protsiva. He worked in the studio of Valentyn Rayevskyi (Kyiv), developed sketches for participation in the Venice Triennial of Art Glass (2002), where the artist's works took the third place. In 2005 he graduated from the Lviv Academy of Arts.

Ruslan Tremba is experimenting with various materials – wood, canvas, paper, cloth, metal, often works with gold leaves, which has already become a characteristic element of his work. He often appeals to other techniques: from the author's dzhonodruk to modern digital art. Also, the artist enjoys making stained glass. "I'm not concerned with the kind of art  – modern or classical. Somehow it goes without saying that what I'm doing is more in line with modern art," says R. Tremba.

In 2007, the young artist began collaborating with Symbolum Sacrum, a foundation from Bonn (Germany), which promotes the unification of theological studies and contemporary art and through the educational programs, residences and orders supports artists. In 2008, he cooperates with the "I Gallery" and its founder Pavlo Hudimov.

In the framework of cooperation with Symbolum Sacrum in 2009, the author created the project "Waiting For The Last Supper", in which a series of abstract paintings continues the "geometric" line of the artist, is revealed in this project through recognizable symbols of Orthodox iconography. His work on the project and emotional experiences Ruslan describes as follows: "Work with sacred subjects really scares me. But I have to pour out what is inside me, knowing that it is necessary to answer for this."

Regarding the election of material for expressing artistic ideas, the author notes: "For many years I have been working only with wood. It seems to me that this is a very pleasant material. When my grandmother in the yard finds a stump, then I look at it for a long time. Such perfect forms that a man would never have been able to make it intentionally. I add something else to this. It's like working with God. You put your imprint on his work. "

In 2010 Ruslan Tremba, together with other graduates from the Lviv Academy, joined in the creative group "Esmarckh Circle". The works of the art group members participated in numerous exhibitions. In 2015, the artist won the Feldman Art Park'15 festival in the field of painting. In the same year he created a series of works "Dreams of Workers".
